Job Summary:
The Assistant Store Associate plays an important role as the connection between customers and merchandise. They use various strategies such as completing transactions, preparing and restocking shelves, making sure the store is clean and presentable, and exceeding expectations in all tasks allocated by the Store Manager to foster company growth and customer contentment.
Key Responsibilities:
? Enhance your customer service skills by greeting and assisting customers with professionalism.
? Apply skill in operating the cash register and scanner to categorize and add up the items purchased by the customer, gather payments, return change, and pack the merchandise in bags.
? Be ready to help shoppers with their selected products if they require assistance.
? Abide by the company’s merchandise guidelines by unpacking, stocking, rotating products regularly, and refreshing the displays, all of which contribute to a positive customer shopping experience.
? Carry out regular tasks such as cleaning the store, removing trash, dusting surfaces, and creating a pleasant atmosphere by setting up outdoor displays.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
? Building positive relationships requires effective oral and interpersonal communication skills.
? A thorough knowledge of safety rules and procedures is fundamental to maintaining the safety and health of workers.
? Accomplished in interpreting and applying planograms and guidelines for merchandising displays.
? It is imperative to be acquainted with fundamental cash handling practices.
? Basic mathematical skills.
? Competence in handling cash register operations and organizing merchandise.
Work Experience and/or Education:
? Having a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
Working Conditions:
? Many people frequently participate in walking and standing activities.
? Checkout areas, restocking shelves, and managing shipments involve repetitive bending, stooping, and kneeling movements.
? Frequently manipulating merchandising products and tools, such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, boxes, merchandise containers, two-wheeled carts, U-boats (six-wheel carts), and rolltainers.
? Consistent and proper lifting of items that weigh up to 40 pounds; on occasion, picking up items weighing up to 55 pounds.
? The act of climbing to a maximum height of six feet with a step ladder is only done from time to time.
? An energetic setting where a moderate level of noise is the norm.
? Intermittent exposure to different weather patterns.
