The Coordinator is responsible for the strategic development and successful implementation of a comprehensive portfolio of continuing education programming that is responsive to the professional needs of the institute?s constituency. This constituency includes the state-wide membership of the Louisiana Association for the Education of Young Children (LAEYC), as the ECEI serves as the Louisiana Affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. In addition to leading ECEI?s efforts to address the professional development and membership needs of its constituency, the Coordinator leads the institute?s community outreach initiatives. The Coordinator supports and navigates a complex network of collaborative partners both on and off campus and in coordination with the college?s Office of Communications & Engagement Service and other centralized administrative support units to ensure compliance with established college and university policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities: 40% Continuing Education & Professional Development Programming: Builds relationships and understanding of early childhood education professional development systems and standards to direct ongoing growth and development; conducts needs and capacity analysis of ECEI continuing education and professional development; assesses needs of professional early childhood education market to create relevant professional education offerings; identify and recommend qualified instructors for continuing education and professional development; assist in the development and maintenance of master ECEI continuing education and professional development schedule and listing of offerings that ensure ECEI engagement with early childhood professionals, agencies, and community partners as outlined in the missions of the institute and membership organization; directs the delivery and administration of ECEI continuing education and professional development; assists in the design and delivery of ECEI?s continuing education programs in collaboration with the CHSE Office of Communications & Engagement Services, which provides coordinated, centralized support for facilitating professional education programming; ensures adequate pre-event planning and coordination and manages event logistics; Coordinates post-event activities, including post-event communications with attendees (e.g., feedback surveys, certificates of attendance, notification of balances due, etc.); analyzes participant feedback to measure and improve effectiveness. 30% Affiliation & Membership Management: Coordinates all administrative support to the Louisiana Association for the Education of Young Children (LAAEYC) affiliate, executive director, LAAEYC Governing Board, and LAAEYC Affiliate chapters/members, and other tasks as needed; maintains effective and orderly filing system for LAAEYC association records; maintains confidentiality of LAAEYC Governing Board, staff, members, and clients; files permanent records and historical records of Iowa AEYC, including copies of minutes and other business matters; completes LAAEYC Affiliate Annual Report in concert with the Executive Director; Governing Board Support: Prepares materials, forwards communications, and responds to requests from Governing Board members after approval by Executive Director; maintains records of approved meeting minutes from Governing Board Secretary, approval items, and Governing Board history; and maintains compliance with NAEYC affiliate requirements; and Chapter/Membership Services: Promotes and maintains relationships with and among chapters/members; responsible for membership recruitment, processing incoming membership applications and member support services and engagement activities. 20% Community Engagement & Special Events: Serves as ECEI lead on logistics for events, meetings, trainings, and schedules; organizes and plans Institute and advisory board meetings; manages and develops community partners; develops effective outreach and engagement mechanism (e.g., podcasts, e-newsletter, blog, weekly series, etc.) working with institute staff, community partners and ECEI constituency to determine content; and works with the College, University, and others to promote the institute and membership organization. 10% Administrative Support: Provides administrative and operational support for the ECEI; Assists in the management of day-to-day business on behalf of the Executive Director as needed; assists in the development/implementation of strategies with Executive Director to enhance and raise the institute?s national standings; and other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree and related experience LSU is committed to creating an inclusive space where our employees feel valued for their skills and uniqueness.
